Happy Monday! What better way to start off the week than to wear something bright and sunny? I couldn't stop smiling in this dropped waist dress. If you have never tried a drop waist dress, I highly recommend you at least try! It is such a fun silhouette! I found the cutest Michael Kors 3/4 Sleeve Printed Drop Waist dress here, and it is only $59! Perfect for you to try! Speaking of Michael Kors, I love this black and white color-block Selma handbag. It was from last year, however, I love how it was updated to three neutral colors. This bag will go with everything! I love this kelly green dress, I am always on the hunt for this green color. I wore this color a few weeks back from a sponsored post with The Mint Julep Boutique, see it here

Gingham & White Denim : Summer into Fall!

Gingham Shirt (old from Gap) similar here and here / White distressed denim here / Michael Kors Hamilton Handbag -exact color here  / Michael Kors Two Tone Parker Watch / Tortoise Sunglasses ($5!)  Wedges (old from Steve Madden) similar here and here / Mac Lipstick "Coral Bliss"

Gingham shirts and plaid shirts- bring on Fall! I love when the air turns a bit crisp and I can grab my favorite fitted plaid shirt and my favorite jeans! Gap is my favorite destination in stocking up on plaid shirts and cotton popovers. They have several fits and always a huge variety in prints, solids, and fabrications. Always check online too since they carry more there!

It has been beautiful in Charlotte all weekend. I was really able to wind down and relax with Pat, Ruby and some friends! Ruby got her first haircut- stay tuned to see some photos!

Casual WeekendWear

Topshop Relaxed Tank ($40)/ Easy Fit Tank ($25)/ Free People "Hot Pocket Tank" ($24) / Free People Breezy Tank ($27)(What I am wearing)

I often think that sometimes we overthink what we should wear day to day. Sometimes it is quite simple- jeans, tank, scarf and a favorite pair of shoes. That is what came of this outfit above; Pat and I were going out for a quick lunch and I got ready super fast! This outfit is quite casual, but since I added the wedges, I felt more girly and cute for our sudden day date!
Enjoy your Saturday!

Striped Off Shoulder Dress

In order left to right:
Franco Sarto Wedges / Aldo Wedges / Aldo Tassel Earrings / World Market Turq. Tassels / Tassel Teardrops Earrings / Michael Kors Hamilton Handbag

Michael Kors Hamilton Tote / French Connection Striped Dress / French Connection A-Line Striped Dress / Vertical Striped Off Shoulder Dress / ASOS Stripe Skater Dress / Aqua Off the Shoulder A-Line Dress
Some of my most loved items in my closet belong to the navy-&-white stripe family! It is forever classic and preppy and barely requires any thinking to it! I always grab this dress when I am in a hurry to get out the door, or grab one of my striped knits and throw on a pair of denim when I want a laid back look! I like adding a pop of color to my navy and white outfit to give it a brighter look. The above Michael Kors NorthSouth Hamilton handbag is one of my favorite bags of all time. It was a gift from my parents and I am always surprised with how much it can be paired with! I could carry it almost everyday!
Since Pat and I are still living an hour a part, (previously we were 7.5 hours apart, so a big win here for us!) I always feel like I am on a new trip, traveling to Greensboro every other weekend! We are always sharing new restaurants with each other or running Ruby on different paths and trails through the city. I wish we were in the same town, of course, but it has been fun exploring our new homes together. We shot this post at Marshall Freehouse, right up the road from where Pat lives. It is a British Gastropub restaurant with a mixology laboratory for their drinks. It is such a cool place to hang out at and try new foods and drinks. If you live in the area, I highly recommend it!
Here's to the weekend only being two days away!

Not So Blue in this Scarf Printed Dress

Monday blues? Not I, in this scarf print dress from The Limited, with by royal blue heels! I love the monochromatic trend, wearing one color in several shades. I think it looks super new and refreshing! When a colors are all in the same family, they tend to play off of each other well! I also found this cute dress, similar to mind, from Neiman Marcus it is on sale for our $47!! STEAL!
I think it will be another busy week at work, but I am looking forward to a few days off in the next few weeks. My best friend from my childhood is spending labor day with me in Charlotte, and Pat and I have family visits planned as well!

I hope you had a lovely weekend!
Do you have any exciting plans coming up?

Pink + Blue + White -Favorite Color Combo

Lilly Pulitzer Tank / Loft Tassel Scarf / Rag & Bone Distressed Denim / Jack Rogers Sandals /    Tory Burch Handbag / Similar Earrings here and here  / Similar Set of 3 Tassel Bracelets  / Mac Cosmetic Lipstick in "Good Taste" Pink Fuschia

Happy Sunday!
There isn't any other color combo that I can put on that literally makes me as happy as pink, blue and white. It always makes me feel so refreshed and happy! It is the ultimate preppy and classy combo.  I wore this when Pat and I walked Ruby around the park and then stopped at our favorite little hidden "gem" bakery. I am obsessed with this white neon pink tassel scarf and Loft has it in a blue color combo as well! Scarves are my favorite for is one of the things I love about Fall! It is so easy to just grab a scarf and go!
I suggest you try out these Lilly Pulitzer tank tops; they always come in multiple colors and are easy to build an outfit around. I also like these Lilly Pulitzer V-neck silk tanks. They are perfect from taking from day to night; wear it to work, then wear it out on the town!  My look is great for weekend wear or perhaps if you are lucky enough to wear denim to work on Fridays, this would be a great outfit for a casual Friday! I just can't get enough of this pink, blue and white together!
My Tory Burch bag is an older version of the Robinson I linked above. I know they are quite a splurge, but I can 100% confirm they are worth the investment. I LOVE this bag, and it goes with EVERYTHING. If I am in a hurry to get out the door, it is a no brainer to throw my wallet, chapstick and phone in this bag because I know whatever I have on, it will go with! They are such high quality bags that will last for years and years of use! Save a little then splurge on a Tory!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Print Mixing + Wear to Work

Blouse: similar here // Skirt: J Crew Factory (similar here)  // Heels: Halogen // Statement Necklace: BaubleBar // Crossbody: Michael Kors // Watch: Michael Kors //

Hello there! I am beginning to grab some of my favorite summer pieces and pair them with more transitional pieces to get a more fall forward look! It's been a bit more "crisp" in the mornings when I take Ruby out,-Fall is on its way! I love nothing more in this life than some sunshine and hot temperatures; however, every year when fall flashes its earliest signs, I feel a small excitement because I love throwing on some booties with my dresses and sweaters with my denim!

I am a huge fan of pattern mixing- I think it is a way to express yourself and stand out among others. If you aren't sure what is too much or too crazy then I advise you to read my tips below!

1. Start with your statement piece. I chose my neon lime green skirt I bought earlier this season at       J Crew. See how I wore it in the spring here!
2. Build upon it with a simple solid in a simple silhouette. I chose this black and white striped Ashton blouse from The Limited. It is very similar to the "Portofino Blouse" from Express; Express has a million colors for every outfit imaginable!
3. Add some simple heels. I added my leopard heels I bought from Nordstrom early spring. I am a believer leopard can be worn as a neutral if you keep everything else simple. Since my top is black and white (neutral) and my skirt is bright, then the neutral colors in the printed heels balance out my outfit.
4. Keep your accessories simple as well. I love this little Michael Kors cross body- it fits my bare minimums and is super light when I wear it out. The jewel tone of this cross body doesn't compete with the neon, but rather stands quietly on its own. I am always surprised how much a darker teal goes with! My necklace is from the boutique Handpicked (you can buy online if you're not as lucky to have one in your town!) As soon as I saw this necklace, I knew I had to buy it. It has all of my favorite colors in it! I know it is bright, but since it sits on top of the black and white, it doesn't compete either! BaubleBar always has such amazing selections as well for all of your jewelry needs!

Let me know your thoughts on this pattern mixing! I hope it is inspiration for trying something new to wear to the office! You have to feel cute while you are working so hard!

I hope this helps!
