Velvet Wrap Dress for the Holidays

Hello! Can you believe December is here in a few days? If your Holiday parties aren't in full swing quite yet, they most certainly will be in the next week or so. I am one to always like to think ahead of what I am wearing to different gatherings and events so I know I won't pick something together last minute that I am not quite comfortable in. I will be sharing several holiday looks over the next few weeks so you won't have to stress about last minute get togethers or what to wear for Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's and everything in between!

If you have been following me for a little while, you know I love wrap dresses. They are figure flattering: hugs your curves and accentuates the tiniest part of the body, the waist. I wear them all year long and frequently shop for them so I can continually add them to my wardrobe! They are my go to pieces in my closet! Velvet has been a huge trend for the season, from little hair bows, to velvet leggings (also comes in black) to similar dresses like mine, you will be sure to dazzle through your holiday events!

Thanks for stopping by!

Backless Sweater + Skirt Combo

Backless Knit Sweater  // Embroidered Skirt // Over the Knee Boots (limited size left, similar here) // Burgundy Clutch (old, love this version here) // Tassel Earrings (similar here) // Jeulia Ring // Victoria Emerson Black Marble Watch

Happy Wednesday everyone! Thanksgiving is minus one day away! Where the heck has 2017 gone? It's crazy....! I felt like it was just summer and I was traveling all over to different places and next thing you know, it's the holiday season! Where does the time go?!

You may have noticed but I love a good skirt and wear them often. When I am shopping online, I always filter by the A-line silhouette. With my curves, I do not like a pencil skirt fit, I feel it does absolutely nothing for me! But an A-line on the other hand, fits over my hips and more so shapes my curves so the tiniest part of my body-the waist- is accentuated! I love throwing on a chunky sweater like this one here, or dressing up a bit more and wearing a simple blouse. Either way, I guarantee you'll look super cute and most likely different than anyone  else you see that day! The sweater I have on is from Amazon Fashion but I also found almost the exact sweater from Nordstrom and it comes in six colors! Such a cozy and cute sweater!

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Pat and I are headed to Charlotte to spend time at his sister's and be with his family. I will be rounding up the sales on Friday and Monday so check back here before you shop:-)

I am so thankful for those of you who read my blog everyday and see what I am doing on Instagram. It's amazing! Thank you!

Comfy Sweater + Thanksgiving Day Look

Lace Up Sleeve Sweater // Express Black Jeans // Charming Charlie Tassel Earrings // Mac Lipstick "Lickable" // Frye Black Booties (old, identical pair here for only $35!)

Happy Monday everyone! Can you simply believe that we are already in full swing of the holiday season? I am a bit stressed just thinking what all needs done in three days before Thanksgiving!  Pat literally just told me to relax when I said that to him out loud. He's kind of right, what truly needs done before Thanksgiving? Sure, the house needs cleaned, food shopped for, desserts baked but in all reality, the world will not end if everything isn't perfect. No one will remember if the rugs weren't freshly swept, it's more about taking time to enjoy your family and friends who come to gather. That's really true for any time you get together with friends or family. The importance is being present in the moment and simply enjoying! So...I keep reminding myself that.

I absolutely love this little lace up sleeve number from Nordstrom. This brown color is so different from anything I own and I think it's a refreshing color from the usual creams, gray, blacks and burgundys of the season! I think the little tie detail on the sleeves are so cute and super fun! I love this new purple pink sweater here that I recently discovered on their website too! It comes in an oatmeal cream color which would be super cute with a festive bow or scarf! I also wanted to remind all of you that my favorite brand of jeans is Express! Their jeans fit true to size, stay up over my hips and have the perfect amount of stretch. You can wear them multiple times before they need washed to  form back to a tighter fit. This is key! Hahah!

Thanks for stopping by!

New Thanksgiving Tradition at Home

Birdies Greenfinch Smoking Slippers // Distressed Jeans (On Sale for $50- my favorite brand for jeans!) // Basic White Longsleeve // Faux Suede Vest (old, similar here) // Mac Lipstick "Relentlessly Red" // VellaBox Candle (you can subscribe to this candle delivery service from$10-$30 per month!) Plaid Cozy Blanket (HomeGoods, similar here)

Happy Friday ladies!
How is it that in one week Thanksgiving will be over and we will be only a month away from Christmas?! This is insane!Isn't it crazy when you were a kid it seemed the holidays were never going to come and somewhere along the line of growing up and being an adult they seem to appear instantly? I'm over here like shoot I need to write my Christmas list and start shopping and watching sales for some items! Don't stress though, I will have you covered with some gift guides, blog posts, instagrams and instagram stories announcing sales and must have items for the Holidays!

In a world that we sometimes feel like we are surrounded by negativity, I've decided to start a new tradition for Thanksgiving this year. I am writing my "warmest wishes" to my closest loved ones. I feel more often than not we get caught up in the bustle and hustle of the season and we are left with comparing ourselves to those around us. What is she wearing, what did he get her for a gift, who made the better this or that, etc. I want to start the holiday season off on a positive note and let each of my friends and family members know why I am thankful for them and why I appreciate them.  I've said it before in this post, where I asked my girls to be my bridesmaids, that Pat and I truly feel so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives. We are grateful God has crossed our paths with our friends and are lucky we have stayed in each other lives. It has certainly taken me years to understand that not everyone you meet are meant to have the time and energy of a lasting friendship. I love the quote "Stop planting flowers in peoples yards who aren't going to water them". It's okay to not be best friends with everyone, this makes it even more crucial to tell the ones you treasure the most how thankful you are for them!

Now what would be better than sending a card to your loved ones? Then telling them in person! I also plan on doing this over Thanksgiving with Pat's family and I most certainly plan on doing it in my stylish yet cozy Birdies Greenfinch Smoking Slippers. Birdies is a company that has created the ideal indoor shoe. Slippers with style, they complete your outfit while making you feel comfortable as you go about doing whatever you're doing in your home: entertaining, cooking, cleaning, snuggling, you name it and you'll look cute while doing it! I am now hooked on these slippers and I have my eyes on this black with leopard tassel pair! These would make for a great gift to your mom, grandma and even your best friend for Christmas! They fit true to size and I swear, you'll be happy!

Thanks for stopping by,
xx, Brittany Ann

2017 Fall Winter Coats & Jackets

Hi everyone! The sun was finally shining bright this morning so I had no problem bouncing out of bed and starting the day! I know when I call my mom in a little she'll ask me what's it like outside and she will not be returning the same good news...that's Pittsburgh for you!

Lately, Winston has had me in a funk. It's been super cold and dreary out. The ideal weather if you are a bear and need to hibernate! Not ideal for us! Thank goodness I got this cute Grid Wrap Coat from Chicwish. It's a totally different shape than a usual coat and I really like that. It stands out! Pat and I were trying this new cafe place out downtown (unfortunately, it was closed-weird hours!) so I had thrown on these comfortable leggings, my go to black booties and a simple black turtleneck long sleeve for underneath. The turtleneck I am wearing is $39 and comes in 4 other colors, including the white which I also have. I love these turtlenecks, they are super thin and super long. I think they are perfect for layering. They do fit tightly so if you need some extra room I would size up, but know they do stretch, they just lay very close to your skin!

Aren't the leaves pretty? As we were driving around I noticed some trees were already looking a little  dead. Sad. I wish Fall could last for 6 months and then Spring the other 6 months! You can't beat seventy degree days and full sunshine! This year Winston went from 80 degrees to 50 degrees real quick! Hahah! You'll noticed I had rounded up a few winter coats that are sure to make a statement this season. Most range from $75-$200. Add one to your Christmas List :-)

I have some pretty exciting things coming up for next week! Stay tuned!
xx, Brittany Ann
