10 Things on my Mind Lately

Today’s post is a bit different than my usual. I can’t help but feel the older and older I get, the faster life goes. I can lay awake at night thinking about a million and one things I need to do, or just stay up thinking.  This post is me just sort of me expressing what’s on my mind lately and if you want to do the same, leave a comment below or send me an email! (brittanyanncourtney@gmail.com) I would love to hear from you, even if you just want to say hi!

1.) Everything is a choice. What you put in your body is a choice you make. What words you use with someone is a choice. How you make someone feel is a choice. Sometimes, people will make a choice that ends up hurting you. You need to realize that and choose to move on. Make a conscious decision every single day to wake up with a positive outlook!

2.) Those who surround you are a direct link to the success you have. This one has been something I have really have learned in the past few years. People want to jump on the bandwagon when they see someone’s success and think they can just get a piece of it too. I’ve learned that those kinds of people will never amount to having more in life if they aren’t willing to put in the work. Surround yourself with people who don’t want your’s or someone else’s success. Surround yourself with people who are already chasing after their dreams, making things happen, succeeding. Energy is contagious and it’ll keep you focused and motivated.

3.) I have been in a rut of where I am wishing time to go by. This tends to happen to me each year during the winter. I am over it, I am ready for some warmer days and Spring! I literally pulled out my storage containers that have all of my spring and summer clothes and went through them.  I made a pile of clothes to donate, what to sell and what I will keep. It make me feel productive and had me excited for warmer days ahead.

4.) The Olympics: Have you guys been watching? I enjoy watching the games and quite a few times already when one of our gold medalist are standing up on the podium with the Star Spangled Banner playing, I begin to tear up! Oh my goodness, call me emotional but I just can not imagine having that laser focus for four years, all of that hard work, all of the sacrifices and then you stand there as the 100% best in the world, representing your country. It’s amazing! At the same time, when I see an athlete fall or not land a trick my heart breaks for them. It’s quite stressful watching haha!

5.) The next two are gym related. I have actually realized very recently that I tend to avoid making any eye contact with any guy at the gym. I often feel at the gym, guys just stare and watch women work out. You know you can sense it when someone is staring, not glancing or walking towards your direction but actually full on staring? I tend to just look beyond any male near me and then if I catch them staring for a long time I’ll actually be a bit aggressive and give them a “What?” look! Pat thought I was crazy when I said guys are so weird and annoying at the gym but now he does say that there are some serious creeps!

6.) High Intensity Training: Pat and I recently added a new HIT workout to our regimen. Three times a week we are doing a jumprope training. Jump rope for 5 minutes at a constant pace. Jump rope as hard and fast as you can for 30 seconds, then rest for 30 seconds. Repeat this until you complete 5 minutes. End with cooling down by jump roping at a constant pace for 5 minutes. It seems like it wouldn’t be hard but my goodness- it’s crazy challenging and I was sore for days after the first time I did this!

7.) I have been trying to turn my phone over on the night stand when we walk into our room to go to bed. I set my alarm from the living room and then that is it! I can spend hours scrolling on Instagram and Pinterest and its proven the bright lights activates your brain and keeps you up! I have actually been trying to read every night for a half hour or so before bed instead. It soothes me!

8.) NARCOS is one of the best shows Pat and I have ever watched. I’m not kidding, I know this one is completely random but Pat and I are only a few episodes away from finishing it and I am super bummed. This show is based off of real life history of the infamous Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel. It’s fascinating to think about the world as this big place with all of these crazy things going on.

9.) I did a try-on haul on my instagram the other day. Did you miss it? It’s saved as RDB Haul on my highlights so you can watch it if you want. Anyways, a lot of you had messaged me that you like that I did that. I had received a bunch of Spring clothes from the Red Dress Boutique and filmed myself trying them on and talking about sizing, fit, color, how to accessorize, etc. I will continue to do those for all of you! That was fun!

10.) I posted a photo of me in a sports bra on instagram a couple weeks back, (see it here) give it a like if you would :-). I had so much anxiety leading up to posting it because I was afraid what some people would comment. I have been working really hard on transforming my body, making it stronger and leaner. I want to share that will all of you, beauty is all shapes and sizes. I posted it in hopes I would inspire at least one person out there to keep working hard and that the results will come. I am thankful for all of you who responded nicely and asked for more updates and fitness related content! It is my goal to inspire each and every one of you as much as I can!

Thanks for stopping by,

enjoy your weekend!

xx, Britany Ann
