Loews Sapphire Falls Resort Review

If you followed along my instagram & have seen the last few posts on here, then you would have have noticed that Pat and I took a week long trip to Florida. We met my parents, my twin sister, and one of my other sisters. My parents rented a place for the week in Kissimmee, about twenty minutes south of Orlando. We were a bit unsure of how many restaurants and shops would be opened due to the hurricane the week before. We felt blessed that we received the okay to come down and hang out together.  Pat and I had the opportunity to spend some time at  Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando and boy, was it amazing. This resort is brand new, it opened end of July, 2016. There are so many things we loved about this resort, I thought I would share a review  so the next time you go to Disney or Universal you know where to stay 🙂 !

The Resort- Loews Sapphire Falls at Universal Orlando

Proximity

One of the resort’s greatest attribute is its proximity to Universal Studios. It’s literally a skip and a hop away from Universal CityWalk, the main strip of shops, theatres and restaurants that guides you right into the parks. The coolest thing when you stay at Loews Sapphire Falls? It has it’s own little dock with boats that pick you up every 15 minutes to drop you off at CityWalk (and to bring you back).

The Rooms

There are 1000 rooms and 83 suites available at Loews. We stayed in a standard pool view room with two queens. The rooms are so pretty, super modern and just had a very clean and comfy feel. The shower was super spacious with great water pressure (important right?) and had a lot of space with its built in bench to store all toiletries! I love the subway tiles in it and love the large glass door. Pat loved the sliding barn door (hello HGTV Joanna & Chip Gaines for teaching Pat that terminology!) that separated the sink & large mirror area from the shower and toilet. The closet was plenty large for the both of us and as soon as you walk into the room, there was a large full size mirror.  The rooms were designed in such details, it truly felt like we were away on a tropical island! One thing we learned upon arriving? The resort is DOG FRIENDLY! Next time, Pat and I will for sure bring our Ruby girl!

Food & Drinks
There were several options through out the resort for food and beverages. The first two photos are of the restaurant outside near the pool. They had your typical burgers, chicken, fries all of that. The following few photos are of this really cool little coffee shop/ convenience shop out of the main lobby area. Their coffees were really good and so were there little baked pastries 🙂 One of the prettiest coffee shops I have been too!  I thought it was really nice they had different little snack options too, I imagine this would be super convenient if you have children! In this little coffee shop you can see they also serve ice cream…SO MANY FLAVORS!! The resort has a couple other full service restaurants with beautiful water views and have lovely balconies to sit outside to enjoy the weather! We really enjoyed our meals and drinks here!

The Pool & Outdoor Spaces
This was truly my favorite part of the resort. It’s simply magical. I can’t get enough of outdoor living space. I love to be outside, I love feeling the sun on my face and the breeze in my hair. I have been like this my entire life and unfortunately, growing up in Pittsburgh, the days for this were a bit less than what I have now in North Carolina! I’m forever grateful for how much the sun shines where we live! Anyway, there are so many different spaces and areas at the resort to enjoy. The pool hands down is absolutely incredible. It’s massive and has this little beach like walkway (super shallow water) to walk across to the hot tub, slide and one of the outdoor restaurants. Waiters walk around taking drink orders so you never have to go too far! There were a million lounge chairs and tables surrounding the whole pool and there are even little cabanas that are available to rent out. Picture an entire outdoor living room, flat screen and all! A part of the resort has chairs that sit in soft white sand so you can really feel like you are away in paradise! One a scale of 1-10, this pool hands down is a 10. It was beautiful! Look at the different views Pat and I got of it when we were photographing!

Other Amenities:
First and foremost, the resort has their own dinner show called the Caribbean Carnaval. It was one of the most fun things Pat and I have done together. It’s about a two hour deal; you enjoy authentic Caribbean food and delicious rum punches before the singing and dancing begins. The show takes you through different Caribbean island’s song and dances. It was super interactive and a lot of fun. Pat and I got up and limbo-ed and danced in front of everyone! See a quick snip of the show at the end of the post!

The resort also has a full fitness center that Pat and I worked out in! It has all the basics and then some. If you’re big into working out, yes, they had a smith machine, stair master and plenty of free weights! Inside the locker room were showers and a sauna. The resort offers other great services: babysitting, room service, coordinating golf tee times, coordinating events, business center, etc. Anything you need they are able to provide, I ensure you!

In the end, we had a wonderful stay here at Loews Sapphire Falls. We would highly recommend this resort and are hoping we are able to come back very soon (with Ruby!). They are building another Loews resort next door, so maybe we will visit and try out that new property when it opens!
