Pat and I are hosting Thanksgiving this year. We hosted last year and I love that it has become a traditional in our home to host. Pittsburgh is home to Pat and I both, so Christmas is always without a doubt, “back home”. My Mom and my mother in law both help tremendously with the actual Thanksgiving meal, as I still have a lot to learn! One of my favorite parts of any season or gathering is putting together the tablescape. I feel setting a table is just so luxurious and sets the tone for the gathering!
Setting a table does not have to be expensive. It can be, but for me, I like to not spend as much on seasonal decor. It’s only out on display for such a small window of time, I would rather invest else where! My tip is to think about how often you’ll use something. If you love a certain table runner and you can visualize using it for the entire year, then that would be a great investment item. If it’s truly just for the holiday, then maybe look at stores like Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and Kirkland’s that run promotions daily to save some money!

My family has always been a bit more casual in dressing, however, I am the one that is typically more dressed up! I love a good sweater dress with boots for the occasion!
